Save the Electricity Save Money Be Green

Electricity prices keep going up and have become a significant bill in people's lives. There are many ways to save electricity and save money at the same time.  Here are a couple:

• Contact several electricity companies and negotiate a better usage rate
• Turn off lights if you're not in the room
• Avoid using dryers and hang out clothes on a sunny day
• Turn off appliances at the power point to avoid low electricity drain that comes from lights, LEDs
• Get a Smart Meter installed which allows better management of peak and off peak electricity and will save you money
• Try and wash clothes or utilize electricity devices in electricity off peak hours
• Make sure you wash clothes in full loads to save on water and electricity
• Adjust the clothes washer to the right washing load
• Use cold water whenever possible if you're washing clothes, dishes etc
